Arctic Pulse engages in primary research activities and also promotes and highlights existing and on-going research that is relevant to the themes of the network.
Network themes are being developed but tentatively include:
environment
operations
geopolitics
economy
law and policy
These focus areas are based on end-user surveys (see Resources) conducted in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
Additional projects, building off the core projects that create the foundation of the Network’s portfolio are being co-developed with project partners that respond to the identified information needs of industry, government, Inuit organizations, and communities.
Arctic Pulse supports and coordinates the creation of large-scale interdisciplinary projects that focus on the five areas of:
Environmental risk
Safety, security and sovereignty
Data modelling and forecasting
Infrastructure and economics
Local concerns
